How this course is shaped

Introduction

This is the Grade 6 Science and Technology course (Ages 11–12). It is written so a child can learn with a teacher, a parent, or a careful older sibling. Every lesson tells you what will happen, why it matters, how to try it, and how to know you understood. The PlusOne / HBC teacher’s guide PDF sits beside the lessons so you can open the original pages when you want the full book.

What you will learn

You will grow in Science and Technology through these units: Health and hygiene; Foodborne diseases; Environmental hygiene; Emotional intelligence; HIV and AIDS; Balanced diet; Food packaging and storage; Food preparation; Germination; Nutrient deficiency and 6 more units. By the end you should be able to talk about each idea, try a task, and connect it to home and Zimbabwe.

How we learn

Each unit has four lessons: Discover, Learn, Practise, and Show. Read the PDF when you want extra examples. Do the ‘Your turn’ work in a book. Mistakes are part of the path — we correct them kindly and try again.

What you need

A pencil, an exercise book, and a quiet place to sit. Safe objects from home or the yard: a leaf, a cup of water, a stone.
