Introduction
This is a Social Science course for ECD A (Ages 3–4). A young child learns with play, songs, pictures and kind talk. An adult should sit nearby, praise effort, and stop before the child is tired. We follow Zimbabwe’s Heritage-Based Curriculum: Ubuntu/Unhu, home language, and real life first.
What you will learn
You will grow in Social Science through these units: ldentity: Family history and local heritage; National history, sovereignty and governance; Heritage; Work and leisure; Transport and communication; Shelter; Global issues; Managing and coping with changes; Social etiquette; Entitlements/Rights and Responsibilities and 4 more units. By the end you should be able to talk about each idea, try a task, and connect it to home and Zimbabwe.
How we learn
We learn in tiny steps. We look, we say, we do, we praise. If the child looks away, we pause. Short, happy lessons beat long, hard ones.
What you need
Crayons, paper, and something to count or hold. An adult nearby to help. A map of Zimbabwe if you have one, or a drawing of your home and school.
