How this course is shaped

Introduction

This is a Schemes of Work course for ECD A (Ages 3–4). A young child learns with play, songs, pictures and kind talk. An adult should sit nearby, praise effort, and stop before the child is tired. We follow Zimbabwe’s Heritage-Based Curriculum: Ubuntu/Unhu, home language, and real life first.

What you will learn

You will grow in Schemes of Work through these units: Term 1 weekly plan; Play, talk and care routines; Checking how we grow. By the end you should be able to talk about each idea, try a task, and connect it to home and Zimbabwe.

How we learn

We learn in tiny steps. We look, we say, we do, we praise. If the child looks away, we pause. Short, happy lessons beat long, hard ones.

What you need

Crayons, paper, and something to count or hold. An adult nearby to help. The teacher’s weekly plan, the matching learner book, and a simple timetable.
